Fire Apparatus

Note: In late
Febuary, 2003 the Chippewa Township Fire Department took delivery of a new Heavy Rescue
vehicle which replaced both the 1972 Utility / Equipment Van and the 1977 Pumper
leaving the 1986 Grass Fire / Pickup as the oldest vehicle in our fleet. This vehicle was put into
service in April, 2003 and will be used for all motor vehicle accidents and all types of rescues
that may occur within the Village, Township and surrounding areas.
The Department also took delivery of 2002 Ambulance
to replace the 1990 Ambulance. Fire equipment has a life of 25 - 30 years, while
ambulances; because of the heavier daily use only have a life of about 10 years.
